How Our Early Childhood Education Program Lays the Building Blocks for Success

Our youngest learners need a high-quality, focused Early Childhood Education curriculum to set them up for success.

Indian Creek’s Early Childhood Education Program helps our students start strong by promoting brain development, building character and teaching civility.

Our program is backed by a 5-Star Step Up to Quality* Rating at Cross Creek and Hills Elementary – the highest rating a school in Ohio can earn!

*Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) is a quality rating by Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services for all Early Childhood Education and Preschool Special Education programs.

Our Formula for Quality Early Childhood Education =

Age-Appropriate Curriculum + Social-Emotional Support

Age-appropriate curriculum:

  • Preschoolers and Kindergarteners learn to follow directions

  • Transition more easily to next grade

  • Gain confidence and meet new friends

  • Grow stronger through motor skill development

  • Experience character development

  • Learn to be responsible

  • Acquire new math and literacy skills

Social-emotional support:

  • New Cross Creek and renovated Hills Elementary buildings are conducive to learning and grade-level appropriate development

  • Board Certified Behavioral Analysts are available to support teachers and parents

  • Weekly intervention-focused PLC (Professional Learning Community) meetings include teachers, staff and counselors from outside agencies

  • Generous grant from the governor in 2019 helps to support mental health wellness and the expansion of our social-emotional programming

  • In addition to all of our teachers and administration holding Bachelor’s degrees, 4 preschool teachers also hold Early Childhood Intervention Specialist licenses
